Heath Ledger's daughter (with actress Michelle Williams) may soon be a very rich little girl, despite the fact that his most recent will made no mention of her. Apparently, Heath Ledger didn't update his will after the birth of his daughter, Matilda, leaving her with nothing after his death. And, honestly, that can been seen as a simple oversight. Most people forget to update wills and such after major events, i.e. birth, divorce, marriage etc.

Close friends of Heath Ledger say he was a really good father, so it's not likely he meant to leave her out of the will.

Fortunately, the law has made provisions for such simple mistakes. According to legal experts, New York's intestacy laws would essentially invalidate Heath's will and give his entire fortune to his toddler child, Matilda. Intestacy laws in New York, mandate that a child cannot simply be over-looked or disinherited, in the event the parent neglects to mention them in the will.

It was believed for awhile that Matilda would get nothing from Heath Ledger's estate and that his entire fortune (worth 20 million plus) would go to his parents and sisters, whom he named in his will as beneficiary of his estate.

Shortly after Heath's untimely death, his parents assured everyone that little Matilda and her mother would be taken care of. Now, it appears little Matilda will take it all. And, Heath's parents and siblings will end up with nothing.
